TRAFFIC IMPACTS UPDATE: State Highway 9 Wildlife and Safety Improvements

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has begun a safety and improvements project on the 11-mile segment of SH 9 between Kremmling and Silverthorne. The work is expected to last until mid-July 2017.

The project will improve the safety and operation of the highway by installing overpasses and underpasses for wildlife crossings, deer fence, new guardrail and signage, and by realigning the roadway.

For the week of April 5,
·         Crews will set up the on the north end of the project, from Mile Marker 130-137. This includes pit establishment and access, and trailer and lab setup. There will be no lane closures during this time.
